Program Structure

Duration: 8 Weeks
Format: 100% Online
Time Commitment: ~3–5 hours/week

Month 1: Foundations & Cross-Cultural Clinical Skills

  • Self-Paced Modules (2 hrs/week)
    Learn the building blocks of global mental health through weekly topics:
    • Defining Mental Health
    • Common Disorders and Cultural Context
    • Compassionate Listening
    • Boundaries & Self-Care
    • Motivation, Alliance & Crisis Management

  • Group Discussion (1 hrs/week)
    Each week we come together to review materials, answer questions, and have an opportunity to discuss. While this isn't required as part of your training, it is highly recommended. Can't make it? Recordings will be provided.

  • Reflection Prompts/Assignments (1 hr/week)
    Apply new skills through bite-sized written discussion prompts.

Month 2: Practicum, Specialization, Competence & Confidence Building

  • Self-Paced Modules (1 hr/week)
    Advance your skills with modules on:
    • Evidence-Based Practices: CBT, DBT, ACT, & SFT (Week 5 and 6)
    • Conducting Individual Sessions with our 5-Step Framework (Week 7)
    • Leading Workshops & Groups (Week 8)
    • Community Advocacy & Mental Health Awareness

  • Practicum Experience (2 hrs/week)
    Gain real-world experience by supporting others in the 4C global digital community.

  • Group Discussion (1–2 hrs/week)
    Review materials, answer questions, engage in deeper learning and experiential exercises, and have an opportunity to discuss or ask questions.

  • The “4C” in our name stands for Classes and Connection for Collective Change. It highlights our commitment to bringing people together through transformative classes that build essential mental health skills, while fostering connections that inspire and support one another. Together, our community creates positive, lasting change—impacting individuals, families, and communities around the world. We believe high quality mental health skills can be taught, and shared, and that every person can be empowered to make a difference in the lives of others.

  • 4C Mental Health is open to anyone age 16 and older who wants to strengthen their own mental well-being or support others. No previous experience is required—just a genuine passion for mental health and compassion for people.

    We especially encourage you to apply if you have lived experience with mental health challenges, whether formally diagnosed or not. This might include anxiety, depression, panic attacks, low self-esteem, ADHD, addiction, eating disorders, trauma, or difficult life experiences such as grief or relationship struggles.

    You do not need to be “healed” or in remission to join. In fact, this program can be a powerful part of your own healing journey. Many people find that supporting others helps them grow and recover personally.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Proficient in English writing (proper grammar and punctuation). Don’t worry—you don’t need to sound like a professional writer! Just be clear, authentic, and human. Typos happen. It’s okay.

    • Access to a reliable device with internet for at least 3 hours per week.

  • It is typically $99 USD per person. From time to time, we receive donations that allow us to waive the fees entirely, making enrollment free. Tuition covers all training, platform access, and weekly supervision and support.

  • 4C Mental Health offers a flexible, interactive learning experience that fits into your life—on your schedule. You decide how deeply you want to engage and when.

    The program runs over 8 weeks and includes:

    On-Demand Multimedia Lessons – New lessons unlock each week. Learn anytime, at your own pace through videos, audio, and written materials.

    Weekly Live Workshops (Optional) – Join interactive group sessions for real-time guidance, skill-building, and Q&A with our experts.

    Practicum – Apply what you are learning in our global online community of people seeking help from all over the world.

    Supportive Online Community – Connect with fellow trainees in a private, safe space where you can share experiences, ask questions, and grow together.

    Time Commitment:

    • You can participate fully with just 3–5 hours per week, but the experience is completely flexible based on your availability and interest.

    Whether you prefer to watch, read, practice, or connect with others, we provide multiple ways for you to build real-world mental health skills—on your terms.

  • While this program is not formally accredited by a university or governing body, it offers a Certificate of Completion that recognizes your learning, skills, and commitment to mental health leadership.

    Our certificate is a valuable addition to your personal and professional development portfolio and can demonstrate your dedication to mental health advocacy, leadership, and peer support when applying for jobs, volunteer roles, or future training opportunities.

    Most importantly, you’ll leave this program with real-world skills and the confidence to make a difference—which is something no official accreditation can replace!

  • Yes, absolutely! Life happens, and we understand that you might need to step back at times. This program is designed to be flexible and self-paced, so you can catch up whenever it works for you.

    All lessons remain available for you to revisit, and you can complete the activities on your own timeline. Even if you miss a live session, recordings will be available, and the community forums remain open for ongoing discussions and support.

    The most important thing is not to give up—just take the next small step forward when you’re ready. Every bit of progress counts!

  • This program does not qualify you to provide professional mental health counseling or therapy. Licensed counseling requires advanced degrees and formal certification through professional or government bodies.

    However, by the end of this program, you will be able to confidently say that you have practical experience helping others with mental health and emotional support skills. Through our built-in practicum, you’ll apply what you learn in real time—supporting real people from around the world in meaningful, supervised ways.

    This hands-on experience is something you can proudly add to your résumé or LinkedIn profile, demonstrating your leadership, communication, and peer support skills.

    While you won’t be a licensed counselor, you’ll walk away as a competent and compassionate mental health advocate, ready to offer emotional support, teach coping skills, reduce stigma, and make a positive difference in your community.

    Think of it as learning to be a bridge—helping people feel heard, supported, and connected. Many of our graduates go on to start local initiative sin their community, or use these skills on the job.
