About the Program
Brought to you through a partnership between LOL Namibia and 4C Mental Health, this 9-month initiative provides youth ages 10–25 with a safe, inclusive space to grow through mentorship, emotional resilience training, skill-building, and community leadership. Whether facing poverty, pressure, or pain, young people in Otweya and beyond are gaining the tools to reclaim their futures.
Role of a Mentor
Mentors in the Otweya Youth Empowerment program will provide consistent guidance, encouragement, and support to youth navigating academic, personal, and social challenges. They serve as role models, active listeners, and motivators who help mentees set goals, develop skills, and make healthy life choices. (Training is included.)
Time Commitment: 2-5 Hours per week for 9 months, starting October 2025
Key Tasks
Meet regularly with mentees (in-person or virtual)
Support mentees in setting and working toward academic, career, and personal goals
Share skills, resources, and strategies for decision-making and problem-solving
Encourage community service and leadership activities
Promote mental wellness, emotional intelligence, and positive values
